Our Outdoor Space

At Jancett we understand the importance of outdoor play and follow the government guidelines on allowing children to learn and play in a safe, secure outdoor classroom environment.

To enable continuation of learning and play from indoors to outdoors:

  • Each nursery has its own garden, with areas fenced off specifically for babies.
  • Garden play is throughout the year so we ask parents and guardians to leave a pair of boots and a raincoat and hood clearly labelled at the nursery (Remember the fun of a puddle?)
  • There is shade in parts of the garden which give a 95% UVB protection from the sun which enables the children to play in safety
  • The gardens all have areas of safer surfacing where climbing apparatus is housed.
  • In line with government requirements each nursery sets out its gardens/outdoor space with equipment, activities and experiences that covers the 7 Learning and Development areas
  • Rabbits and guinea pigs can generally be also found housed in the nursery gardens.
